Half way through this book I rewatched Craig Foster’s amazing film My Octopus Friend. I wanted to remind myself of who he was and what his voice sounded like to continue reading his memoir. Set mostly in South Africa this book is as much about you and me as it is about him. It is really a rallying cry about rewilding yourself. Get into that sea with the early morning swimmers at Castor Bay. Sit in your garden for an hour a day just watching the wildlife. We have forgotten where we came from and where we fit into the bigger picture and we need to get back to some sort of balance with nature if biodiversity is to have a hope in hell of recovering.
