Hosting Your Bookclub

Are you interested in us hosting your next bookclub?

Here’s some helpful information:

  • We can comfortably host up to ten people. Any more and space is a little tight. Please let us know how many bookclub members you have and we will do our best to accommodate if possible.

  • We generally host bookclubs on a mutually agreed weeknight date. We suggest a start time of 5:30pm, with the event ending at 7pm. Allow for about an hour and a half. Most groups then go on to have dinner together at a nearby restaurant. If your bookclub wants to start at a later time we are happy to accommodate.

  • Hosting your bookclub at The Booklover is free of charge unless you would like us to provide drinks and nibbles and then it will be $10 per head.

  • We can provide wine and a cheese platter for $10 a head, or you’re welcome to bring your own drinks and nibbles. We provide glassware, napkins, water, tea, and coffee free of charge.

  • Guests arrive, chat, and wander amongst our books, then Olivia will give a 30-40 minute presentation (covering between 10-15 books) and guests are encouraged to ask her plenty of questions. The bookclub is then free to chat some more and purchase books if desired. Before hosting your bookclub we ask you to fill in a short questionnaire in order for us to gain a better understanding of the books your group likes to read.

  • No, there is no expectation or pressure to buy books. Hosting your bookclub is our opportunity to grow connections within our community and share our enthusiasm for the written word.
