Where are our sci-fi fans at? A mountain appears seemingly out of nowhere and specialists from around the world are called upon to study it. Think Jeff VanderMeer’s Annihilation but better (in my opinion). Once they are on the mountain they all start to feel the same feeling - we need to go up, we need to ascend because there is an unexplainable desire to reach the summit. This novel is an absolutely wild story told in the form of ‘letters that were never sent’. It gets dark and it gets deep. I couldn’t put it down and after finishing it I gave it straight to my dad because it’s right up his alley too!
