League of Liars is described as Six of Crows meets How To Get Away with Murder and I can tell you that is very accurate! Ever since I read Six of Crows I've been wanting to read something that made me feel the same kind of way. Reading this transported me back to all the great YA books of the 2010's - Red Queen, An Ember in the Ashes, Shadow and Bone. I loved the setting of Vardean prison, I loved the magic - edem - that lurks in shadows and just begs to be used even though it's illegal, and I loved the characters - misunderstood teenagers just trying to find out the truth. A suspenseful legal fantasy drama that I hope continues as a series!!
