Who doesn't love a good heist story? This has definite Ocean's Eleven vibes and is about a group of Chinese-American students who decide to band together to steal back Chinese art from some of the top museums in the world.
There are some interesting themes around art history, colonialism and cultural diaspora but ultimately Portrait of a Thief is a cracking story about a bunch of smart risk-takers, each with a different set of skills, who plot and attempt to execute a daring heist. Refreshingly different and will keep you on the edge of your seat!
