NZ author Fleur Beale has turned her hand to something a little different - a modern-day magical fairytale for younger readers (aged 7+). I was absorbed from the first page and raced through this story of children who band together to fight evil. The problem the children face is a difficult one: If they stand up for what is right, if they dare to ask questions, they run the risk of being ‘disappeared’. And if they are ‘disappeared’, where do they go and can they ever make it back home?
