Please don’t be fooled by the cover of a woman in a red coat with the Eiffel Tower in the background! This is not just another fairly predictable WW2 novel, it is a clever, brilliantly-written, suspenseful story based on true events (the author has done her research!). The Paris Agent is about two women who are sent into occupied France as undercover British agents and the harrowing sacrifices they are forced to make. It is also a mystery, with twists and turns, as 25 years after the war, an aging British SOE operative begins to uncover the truth about what happened to the two women. If you’ve been wanting to read a really good historical novel, I urge you to pick this one up.
