This time How to be a Woman author Caitlin Moran turns her pen to the subject of men. She found she was being asked by women at nearly all her speaking events “what about my sons” and it got her worrying. Worrying about who men have to turn to in the 21st century for help and advice. Using lots of anecdotes from her husband Pete, male friends and her twitter crowd she covers topics in a serious but humorous way such as adolescence, male friendship, online porn, parenthood, anxiety, role models and why men have to be dying before they’ll go to the doctor. My hope is that men buy this book for themselves, or if they don’t then women buy this book and pass it on to the men in their lives, because Caitlin Moran describes why the patriarchy is screwing over men as hard as it is screwing over women. I reckon this one could start some good chats around the dinner table.
